It’s just you and me alone in that little shack in the spring.
It reminds me of the storybook happy endings
That always seemed to give me hope,
Make me smile,
Think of you…
The moss is my best friend the days you aren’t there.
The cool green keeps me refreshed in the summer
As we run about the place like we did when we were little.
You always were faster,
And you always caught me,
But I never minded
Because it was one more reason
To be close to you.
Now as I walk alone along the little pasture out front,
I find myself wishing you’d run up behind me
With one of your big hugs,
Arms wrapped around me,
Whispering,
“Tag, you’re it.”
